Not beging able to connect.

well, my brother just got a new computer up and running, adn we tried to donwload Limewire on here, it installs fine but when we start it up it keeps telling us that its connecting but it never does, ive gone threw the firewall and looked at the exceptions ports, and limewire is 1 of the exceptions...kinda need some help, cause no music to listen to on this PC, what are some other programs to use for download, we have already tried Limewire, Frostwire, Aeres, azureus. but most of them you gotta pay for, or we cant find a key gen for tem...any help will do.

just music......like 200 songs i downloaded, case never went to court but i learned to keep downloaded songs on separate external hard drives so it looks like theres no songs on computer(un hook it when not in use)

You must have had a blabber in your midst. The law doesn't waste time looking for someone for downloading a measly 200 songs.

I got a letter in mail sayin if i didnt pay IIRC 400 dollars i would be summons to court.....i threw it out. Then i got another one and a phone call stating they were with the fbi or some shit......i hung up on them

To this day i believe it was a fake but idk.........

lol prolly, had me nervous.....papers looked legit with the legal format n stuff.

But anyways, i just finally got one of those e-mails from Africa about buyin something of mine of line.....funny shit these scammers are goin though now

i use a torrent for my movies, i use limewire for my music, ive used limewire on my other computer for 2years never had a problem nor virus issue, it just wont seem to connect on this PC, ive tried using a torrent on this PC but it wont seem to connect to any program involving me to donwload anything, what torrent you use, i use Bittorrent/www.isohunt.com

Since you're saying "Limewire is one of the exceptions"... it sounds to me like you were checking the windows firewall on the computer itself. If you have a router between your modem and your computer, you will need to access it and open the proper ports.

A few points of advice:
1. Scan everything you download from Limewire with a virus scanner.
2. Torrents > Limewire, but sometimes limewire works where torrents don't (eg, my campus connection)
3. Key/serial generators are almost always infected with something, or its not a key gen at all, just a virus/trojan etc itself. Ever try to run an .exe and nothing happened? Run your antivirus software and cancel your credit cards.
