I just saw all kinds of computers marked down at office depot and office max. Marked from like 1100 to 649.

to hell with e-bay for a PC!!!

just go to dell... they are decent PC's... you complete best bet would be to go to a convention and build your own... you could build a top of the line pc for half the cost of a new pc that is mid grade...

If you can buy it at Walmart or a big box store it is crap, in terms of what a tech would consider crap...

But 700 bucks for a new pc with enough storage and 3g of ram, plus a 22 inch monitor isn't a bad deal. I have very little doubt that it would work just for many people.

That catch to these "deals" is the hard drive and transfer rates are usually very slow... The video is on board and not only is it slow, it is probably "shared" memory with the system board... The power supply is likely borderline at best, and the applications are probably all 30/60/90 day time bombs....

I just bought an XPS off ebay, i wasnt going for top of the line fast, just something decent enough to play some games (i am not a gamer, just sometimes like playing a couple of the games) and I wanted it to be small and light. Hopefully I got a good deal. If everything pans out and its not broken in anyways than I landed one hell of a bargain.

Just keep looking around, come up with a screen size you want. and minimum system requirements and put that all in on ebay and then just select to lok at all the buy it nows from least to most expensive. Thats how I always find the best deals..

ok I checked it out.. seems like a good enough deal for what you get. What do you plan on using the computer for?

only thing that really stand out as really great in the 22 in screen though. 500GB hard drive is pretty small for a desktop nowadays, 2ghz dual core processor is on board with most cheaper laptops, 3 gigs of ram is also something you can find on most laptops, and the graphics card definatly isnt the best out there. It was just made to be an economy PC with a nice moniter it seems like. There is also nothing wrong with that though. You have a good LAN card in that one and if its primarliy used to web browsing and other light duty tasks it would be great for you. Just dont expect to jump online playing the newest games out and not be laggin a bit..

    Hope that helps a little

I am staying far away from the tri-cores from AMD... I have no real reason or evidence to back it up, but man. Tri-core? That just screams "NICHE PRODUCT" to me... I just can't imagine those being supported for a long time at all....
