Downloaded and tried it. Couldnt even get it to find songs. This one is confusing....

You have to go to a torrent site, DL the torrent, then open the torrent.

Not really a Peer 2 Peer set-up like the others.
Isohunt.com is a good one.

Idk I been using limewire since like 2003...I think the old versions are better but the new ones have bit torrent.

the riaa still does..the grutella network is COMPLETELY vulnerable by sentry...and working at a college and HAVING to work with a the riaa about this whole file sharing issue...lets me get some inside info..like the riaa is getting ready to step up monitoring and litigation in a huge way. On campus alone ..we have had to deliver over 500 pre-litagation letters to students and already this year we have over 300 already. bit torrent and limewire make up easily over 80% of the letters. i used to d/l all the time..but getting this job at central's oit and now this inside info of what they are prepping to do i am out of the game...but if you decide you really need to...get one that 1. uses packet encryption..and 2. does not use the grutella network..ie lime/frostwire...bearshare..morphesus ect. not to mention all of those mentioned and bit-lord have malicious code that even when you "completely" remove the program.....it reinstalls the sharing service...and continues to share music/files..in all folders...not just your "shared" folder..this holds true for your itunes shared folder also....i am currently working on a intern paper discussing this issue.

Now, i have always been under the impression that the only people they were going after on limewire for example, were the people that were giving the songs away (uploaders). They weren't messing with the people that were just downloading them. I don't upload anything, i have that turned off, but it seems like if they were going after the downloaders that myself and my friends would have gotten busted a long time ago.

nope..that used to be the case.they are now going after d/l...they have dummy super nodes that record IPs that query their lists and download from them. Also its worth noting that limewire and bearshare are malicious in the fact that you can never truly turn off sharing. You can turn off partials ect. but the services will still share out your library and all other files..this is a huge safety concern for IT..especially campuses...i kid you not...you get a port scanner and uninstall limewire ect...and monitor it for awhile and you will start to see spikes of outbound traffic..and it shares ALL of your files too..it just doesnt show the uploads on the GUI. I liken your comment "but it seems like if they were going after the downloaders that myself and my friends would have gotten busted a long time ago." to Russian roulette...you can win as many games as fate has it..but eventually the bullet will be in the chamber you have selected. the more you d/l..the more you share and the greater the risk of logging by sentry ect is. but hey take my posts as you want..i know i will not be able to convince anyone to stop d/l..just want to make sure you guys know what is really going on with those "free" downloaders.
