    High cpu usage

I have a 2.4g dual core and recently it's been hitting 100% usage for simple stuff...like doing anything in internet explorer. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

It's been doing it since I reinstalled XP to my C drive because spyware or a virus left it unusable...all my porn and shit in on my D drive and I left that as is. I only have one hard drive...it's partioned.

I have 2 gigs of ram and a 7950 GX2 card. It hits 100 all the time doing anything really...which causes a slight pause in the system whenever it happens. I could just be scrolling down the page on explorer or opening an app.

I went to download.com to check for that hijack program...either they don't have it or hijack is a spyware remover. I have spyware doctor with anti-virus running all the time now since my system took a duece.

are you running more than one antivirus??? are you running a spyware at the same time as yoru anti virus??? some times they conflict with each other and think they are threats and really fuck things up for you... for example if you have mccafee you got it all in one package and don't need something like stopzilla to stop pop ups...
