    Help with my new notebook

So i recently got a new HP notebook and now the dam thing is slugish. It use to be so damn fast but now it takes a while to boot up and launch explorer. Its just plain slow but I have good configurations and they include....
    4GB RAM
    320 Hard Drive
    Vista
    AMD 64bit processor

I always run ALL the updates on it and clean out my C disk almost once a month. Any ideas.

Also in my microsoft word everytime i type a word and hit space a little dot come in between the word and where my cursor is. My paragraph button (show/hide) always comes on even when its unchecked at the top of the ribbon. Any1 ideas???

Probably have a ton of start up programs / spyware / adware / etc

Find a good cleaner and try that.

As for the MS word thing, yeah the dots are caused by the paragraph option being selected, not sure why it would be on automatically each, it might be a selection in the options so you might want to look through the settings to see if something like that wasn't accidentally turned on, by a shortcut key or otherwise.

Probably alot of adware/spyware. Do a free scan and see. I went to www.malwarebites.org ( I think ) And that rid my CPU of alot of bad things. Completely free.

what you are running into is a lot of programs being started up with windows...you dont need itunes to auto start with windows or your im and etc etc ..go to the task bar..see what programs are running ....click on them..go to the options and make sure that you un-select startup when windows starts etc

id assume you have vista..not sure if it works in vista..but put in your vista cd..and in the search bar type cmd ...then right click it and select run as administrator.....
once it opens up type in sfc /scannow ..and let it run
