Got a letter from my ISP

I just started remodelling an apartment in a fourplex my parents own. First thing I did was get my highspeed internet hooked up so I could have my computer downloading. The very first thing I downloaded was The Hangover and guess what mom gets a registered letter from our provider saying that I downloaded it and will be charged $20 and for every other offense I will be charged $20. Well I have downloaded a few movies in the time in between and I told her that I will pay them.

Ok I got caught I'm paying for it, now what can I download to keep them from seeing what I download?

I use Vuze to download btw, have forever never had trouble till now.

I have seen ads for stuff to let you download anonymously but they all have to be paid for.

Let me guess, you used torrents right? Stop using them. They are so easy to track. I bust a few people a week doing that. If u wanna be safe, use rapidshare. I have for years.

Peerblock buddy, ive got over 500gb of movies, music and data, never had an issue. Had a friend start downloading torrents, he got bit right away. Since he started useing peerblock, no more issues. Torrenting without something like peerblock is just asking for trouble.

I would have sent them a letter saying fuck you... You invade my privacy, here's a bill. Next time, while I am watching porn. Please come on over, so I can put a bullet in your ass.

So if you leave your apartment door open and came home to fiund a bunch of people sleeping on your floor they can say "It was an unlocked door so we assumed you invited us to share."?

encryption is a double ended sword. more encryption means your processor has to do more to do less.
