computer help please.....
OK so I have two PC's and they both do the same thing, take along time to load then it says the page is unresponsive,, I have McAfee, and Norton on these but just the free ones, I assume I need to purchase a virus program then that will fix it.... Now my second computer got really bad I started messing with it , and now I cant get it to connect, the two monitors on the right bottom show no activity, and there is a blue circle on the one to the right, i can click on networks and it says its connected and running correct.... thanks

1) how old are these PCs?
2) "monitors on the right bottom"??? are you talking about network connectivity icons?

Do you mean you have both McAfee and Norton on the same machines or one pc is Norton
and one is McAfee? Hopefully the latter?
I have to say i have always used the free AVG and never had an issue at all. keep it up to
date as you should, etc.........

First...do you have norton and mcafee running on the PC's together or McAfee on one PC and then Norton on the other?
If you can open any webpages at all download this and run a full scan...let me know what it finds.
SUPERAntiSpyware - Downloading File
If you cant get to any webpages do this and try again and let me know if this allows you to get back on the internet and we can go from there...

...could be your router and/or modem... if they're "always on", every once and a while you could lose connection, and you'll have to restart the router and modem.... do you have any "activity lights" flickering on the router?, ...on the modem?

Step 1 - admit you have been checking out the free porn sites.
Step 2 - while checking out the above mentioned sites, if a pop-up of any kind appears do not click on anything on the screen. Chances are you will install unwanted tracking software, malware, or virus laden crap that will turn your system into a zombie that will assume your identity and send porn to everyone in your contacts list.
Step 3 - to safely make the pop-ups go away use ctrl+alt+delete to get to "Start Task Manager".
Step 4 - under the Applications tab select each open web page and select "End Task".
Step 5 - never, never, never go back there again.

I wouldnt go buy anything just yet...if you cant run the first program I recommended I doubt your PC will let you run a different anti-virus program that requires more resources to operate. Once we get your computers back up and running I would recommend 1 of 2 programs...Trend Micro Maximum Security or Kaspersky Internet Security. I know some people recommend the free programs and they are "ok" but I personally would never trust my identity or anything I keep on my computers/network to something that is free...just my personal preference.
Download this and run it...its pretty powerful.
Downloading ComboFix
Here is a guide on how to run it:
ComboFix: A guide and tutorial on using ComboFix
FYI it can take a while to run and it will restart your PC. Dont run anything else while this scan is running.
Almost forgot...if these are windows XP computers keep in mind that Microsoft will no longer be supporting them in April which means you'll get zero security updates from that point forward. Microsoft is finally letting XP go...Last edited by theorangeguy; 02-07-2014 at 04:47 AM.

Actually after watching the 2nd scan, it looks like its the same threats , I restarted , but i had to push the button to get it too shut down, so i guess it didnt clear from the 1st scan, I also had to get the mouse and keyboard from the other PC because the ones on this PC stopped working....

..ditto what the orangeguy said about the cessation of XP security updates... i'm going to go win 8.1, ...and i'll probably be buying a new computer because a lot of the older board h/w isn't compatible w/ win 8...
also, i've used vipre antivirus, and it seems to run w/ minimal impact to system resources (probably much better than norton or mcafee?)...
