Good news- Goldeneye 007 returns in november

Bad news- it's only going to be on the nintendo wii...

you decide- daniel craig replaces pierce brosnan for bond

I think the graphics look great, but i dont like how they ditched brosnan imo. what do you guys think of the greatest first person shooter ever to return?

On Tuesday, Activision unveiled GoldenEye 007, a re-imagined take on a Nintendo 64 classic that many consider to be among the greatest first-person shooter games ever created. And like its forbear, the new version will be a Nintendo exclusive when it arrives this holiday for the Wii console.

The reveal took place during Nintendo's E3 2010 press conference, just hours before the official start of the game industry's annual mega-convention in Los Angeles. While Nintendo certainly made waves with its other announcements, the coming of a new GoldenEye rivals them all.

Perhaps the most notable tweak is a casting change. Current Bond Daniel Craig will replace traditional GoldenEye lead Pierce Brosnan as the star of the show, and while that might not sit well with GoldenEye purists, the game itself looks to stay true to form.

With an emphasis on multiplayer (the real hallmark of GoldenEye), the new effort boasts 40 different characters, 5 maps, 3 basic modes and 16 modifiers that will purportedly let gamers create over 500 different kinds of multiplayer games. It will also be playable online with up to 8 players and include some sort of experience system rewarding online play. The game will support multiple control schemes as well, including the somewhat underused Wii Zapper.

Released in 1997 for the N64, the original GoldenEye was a bona fide smash. It enjoys a startling 96 rating on Metacritic and has sold over eight million copies, making it far and away the best-selling Bond game ever.

it looks like it'll follow the same path, just better graphics, and some new moves for bond- such as the grapple take down from behind

Is it possible to connect a N64 controller to the Wii? I know they had that SNES-type one.

Lol i have missed golden eye ever since i upgrade and packed the n64 away. However it is not the best first person shooter ever it just has a place in the hearts of so many people who grew up in that time era.

That being said fuck wii, shooting games are not for that system and suck on that system. Luckly though I have a wii I bought for my girl.

My B/F has a Wii, he set it up at my place. I just don't get the system it's annoying and the graphics suck. Plus the games, most of them are just stupid. Some of them are not bad with a group. But just to pop open a drink and play a game....

i wonder if they'll have the golden gun multiplayer? i remember the one level we always played and i knew how to get there first and were all the best guns where they always got mad at me and wanted to play different levels haven;t bought a game in forever but think this is one i should get

Golden Eye was the best game ever for n64, I remember putting my tv and n64 on the porch outside with my friends and playing for hours in the outdoors

back in highschool me and my friends would smoke a few doobies and duke it out... i used to be unbeatable... i could look at their screen and know exactly where they were on the map...

we would be able to do the same thing then you would hear the classic "Dont look at my screen!!" I was too young to smoke a little something something though

Fuck yeah I played multi-player with my brother and cousin till my eyes bled back in the day but has anyone tried playing the original multi-player lately? It sucks so hard ahhahaha It's pretty disappointing. You're like damn I remember this being tits but now it blows.

As for single player... its still bad ass.

Sucks this will only be in Wii. Had one and it sucked. Looks like I wont be playing it any time soon after it comes out.
