Radial Vs. The world
So Feb 26th til the 28th i got to go to SGMP in Cecil, GA for "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" Radial Vs. The World competition. Ended up having an awesome time and got to meet some very intersting people (including Ken Harring from Past Time, and some of the main guys from Procharger). I went with some family who own a company that specializes in electrical parts for these cars (its called High Performace Controls). We went to help support them through the weekend and for Alan (co-ownder of the comapny) to teach me a little about what he does (which hopefully can turn into some future work for me doing the same thing), as well as just to see some fast cars. Here are a few pics and vids from the weekend.
This is Jerry Gunters Car. Its a '69 Camaro z/28 (alot of people are pissed he used an orginal car like this). Its full steel body and glass windows, and weighs in at 3330lbs. Its got twin F2 Prochargers making about 34 lbs of boost (on this day). His best run of the weekend in the 1/8th mile was an 4.81 at 16x mph i believe.
On his second qualifyingn pass things got a little crazy

so these got added lol
It first appeared to be only cosemetic damage, however after this run they found out it had dented the oil pan, cutting off oil flow and eventually throwing a rod after going through the traps. (this wasnt noticed since they use a diaper ont he oil pan to keep anything from getting on the track). Here is his last run (and acutally his fastest of the day)

There were also a couple other of there clients there, one 3rd gen raced by Josh Peel

And another, which im not to sure of his name, racing another 69ish camaro.

Here are a few other random pics of the event. There were some records set on a radial tire as well this weekend. One car went 4.44 @175mph (sorry no pics or vids of that car).
