My first time to see the funny cars. I have never experienced nitro before-that stuff burns everything. I was in the 3rd row and could not have hoped for any better seats. Never felt anything like that before when they blast down the track, every time they launched it seemed my vision blurred. All I can say is wow and thank god for earplugs.

Headed to the pits to watch them tear down the motors. It was really cool watching them pull the clutches out wile they were still red hot.



Get a look at those distributors







Watched them rebuild it up and they started it in front of the crowd that had gathered to get ready for eliminations. They gave it two small revs, hard to explain other than than the whole crowd took a step back like something thumped us on the chest. My straw flew out of my cup although nothing I can say can describe the tear wrenching awesomeness of being that close to a revving motor.

And the very last race the battery on my camera gave me the finger



Had a tailgate bbq afterward and watched the traffic merge onto the one lane highway It was a good day I even hit a crow that just happened to fly in the wrong direction hehe.
