    And we're not thinking of what may be the real problem. All those V6 mustangs running around challenging everyone. 305 hp? They are all gonna think they can beat those old camaros.

    The new 5.0s are strong performing cars but the current magazine stats dont show them bein any faster than an f-body in the quarter mile, they are only really supposed to be quicker from 0-60 so it would probably be a drivers race stock for stock, and yeah im with everyone else, im ready to slay one of the new "badass 5.0s"

    First of all I would say "looks like its still a regular old 5pointSlow to me"! Correction on the earlier car and driver statement about the mustang running 13.1....there is 2 different youtube videos and 1 MM&FF magazine article with the new mustang running both 12.7 and 12.8. Obviously you wouldn't know it by the way that SS smashed him but that's the word on the street.

    I copied this from tech. this was writen by the driver of the SS...

    "I posted this at the end of the other thread, but figured it would be good to post by itself to clear some things up.

    I was in the SS. The guy driving the 5.0 owns both cars (he's had the 'Stang on order for months).

    Here is the run-down:
    The SS is a 2001 with 90k miles or thereabouts. The engine in it was mine and is out of a 2002 SS and has about 30k miles on it. The engine is stock other than a whisper lid on it. It has stock manifolds, stock cats, stock exhaust. It put down 334rwhp when it was in my car with 15k miles on it through the center exit SLP exhaust. Matt's car doesn't have that exhaust, but I doubt that effects the power output. I ran a 12.89 in my car with the motor and the stock F1s.

    The 5.0 had 8.6 miles on it when we left the dealership. We literally filled up and then ran. The car isn't broken in - AT ALL. Give her some time to loosen up and she'll pick up some speed. The traction control wasn't fully turned off in the 5.0 on the runs either. We didn't know you have to be stopped, brake on, hold the button down for 10 seconds, spin and top and spit out the window to fully disable it. That will make a difference as the 5.0 was cutting out on shifts.

    He can post in here what he feels on driving, but I can say that he most certainly knows how to drive and he was running full out. With the traction control completely off the result will be different. Once it has some miles on the clock the result will be different. How different, who knows?

    yeah... and with that said their gonna be just like the sales man who raced me in my WS6 with a 304 hp V6 camaro. I killed him and he claimed it was because I had more hp... at the time I hadn't done any work to my car other than an 80's flow... I beat him by 12 cars to 80mph! factory my car was rated 325... 21hp isn't going to do that. Hell even if mine is an 02 with the LS6 intake and may be underrated IDK. 300hp in a V6 is just a different story than 300hp in a V8
