Yeah 13.8 is pretty lame even for a convertible, but the weather/track conditions the day of the test could have played a part. They made up for it in 2001 when they wen't 13.4 in there WS6 tester.

Magazine testers don't like traction for some reason

Man I got tons of those old shows on tape. One from Car and Driver tv show, Jim Scouten hosted that show too. Tested the LS1 Camaro vs the new Mustang (99 I think). Put em both on the dyno and drag strip. Pretty cool show. I also got the Car and Driver where he reviewed the 99 anniversary Edition WS6.

Yeah, that was nice. The only issue I had with Motor Week is the times they got out of the cars. Usually poor. That's why I liked M/T better. It seemed that M/W was about highlighting the 'useful' stuff like the different features of the car - and not really performance oriented. It was still a great show though.

And how about this. An LT1 that would hold it's own!

Not sure about the Camaro but, the Trans Ams were pulling 2-4k over blue book as of a year ago. I think its' been pretty consistent like that for awhile.
