    Window Switch Help

Installin a nitrous kit on a 98 Trans Am. Having trouble finding the Tach wire for the MSD Window Switch. The car dosent have traction control and havent had any luck using Mitchele On-Demand, the wire they give me dosent seem to be the tach wire. Someone please help. I'm Using a MSD 8956 Window Switch.

I went to the white wire, which there are accually 3 of them, and hooked up a Tach to make sure that i had the right wire and not even the Tach would work, im thinking that maybe there is another wire ore there is something wrong with the car. The factory tach does work. Thank you for any help that anyone can give to me.

thank you, would appreciate any help that you can offer, trying to avoid tearing into the dash to find the tach signal, plus the mitchel on-demand program that i have, its wiring diagram dose3nt seem to match the harness in this car. It also tells me about an ign. module on the left cylinder head that i have yet to find. Thanks again for the help and any info you can get me.

    Richard,

Do you have your window switch in 4-cylinder mode? It must be in this mode to work with LSx motors. It will not work in 8-cylinder mode.

The wire you want is the number 10 white wire that comes out of the computer.

    Re: Window Switch Help

thank you for the help but switching the aftermarket tach and the window switch to 4 cyl mode did the trick, if that isnt mind blowing on a V-8. The N20 is hiting just as planned, thanks for the help.

    Re: Window Switch Help

I guess i should have know because the system fires 2 coils at the same time which makes the ign look like a 4 cyl to the tach and the Window switch, well i hope this will save someone elese the headache that i got from trying to figure it out.

Thank you to all who tried to help out, now its off to the next phase, heads, pistons, intake, cam, 4:10 gears, converter, and a 400 hp shot.

Ram air, headers, 3:73 gears, and program are all ready installed. the car ran 1/8 mile in 8:20 on Nitto street tires. Hoping new changes will get into the low 7's.
