Pics of N20 Backfire!
ok back in november when it happened I had said I would post pics but never got around to it. good thing I took off the throttle body today cause now I know I also NEED a new intake manifold. Car still runs great but as you can see in the pics its a little on the rough side. I have replaced the MAF with a SLP MAF and got a new intake tube and I have all parts needed for my heads cam swap waiting on me finding a good price on a LS6 manifold and new throttle body since mine has melted crap stuck on it.

Ouch...... One of my friends had a accident similiar with a 06 LS2..... Blew the intake into 10-15 pieces. But put on a F.A.S.T. and another kit and it's been all good. They can handle more abuse than most think!!!

actually the MAF got toasted, only thing that kept the car from running right for a day actually.. the little wires were melted on it and it couldnt read anything right. you just cant tell in the pic. I have an SLP MAF on there now

no.. I kept hitting my rev limiter all night long and I couldnt figure out why so I tried setting the limiter at 6800 to give me a little more play and lowered all my shift points. the next pass I figured out why I had been hitting my limiter. Second gear could not hold the power and I blew the band and went straight up to 6800 rpms at WOT on a 150 shot, floated a valve and caught fire.

Wow brotha good thing your motor lived hugh, thats rare and a worst juice nightmare. I get afraid of missing the shift on the 6spd but I take my time in third to make sure I hit it. Adding a window swicth also for protection, cause the factory rev limiter cuts the injectors but not the juice and will load up causing a backfire. Glad to hear she stayed together though man that makes me more comfortable about my 150 shot!

Yea wow at least your motor lived! That progressive controller should be a nice smooth shot, plus nice to have the built in window switch. Are you gonna get the nx progressive setup. I have the nx iceman solenoids with the shark 2 pro nozzle it works pretty sweet its a nice steady pull on a 150 shot. Good luck man.

ya know, i never thought to ask what brand. My friend was up at a speed shop and the owner has a 402 camaro on spray and he was talking about these new progressive controllers that judt do everything. I am more worried about replacing the trans when it comes in and doing the heads cam swap but maybe next month or so Ill start really looking into the progressive controllers.

Welcome to the club! i did the same thing to mine. ate the MAF, K&N and sprayed maf screen everywhere. reason 1 to de-screen your MAF before you spray.

my friends race car popped comin off the line, and it blew their carbon fiber hood scoop about 60 feet in the air.
they brought the car back, mixed up a big, super hot batch of resin, and fiberglassed the scoop back together, and ran again later that night lol.
