Nitrous should just be thought of as any other way to add 100hp. It wont hurt your engine any ever just because its nitrous however anytime you up the horsepower on your car you will shorten its lifespan in the long run. Nitrous its actually better about maintaining the longevity of the engine however due to the fact that you arent using all the extra power and putting all that extra stress on your engine on a daily basis. As long as you use all the basic safety features and use colder plugs with the right tune it will never hurt your car anymore than any other method of getting power. People may argue the fact that it is an instant shock on your internals and that will decrease your engine life which may be true however when you figure in that you dont use all that power all the time then its evens itself out. Also if you get a kit with good solenoids then you can also run a progressive controller (they have them with built in window switches and FPSS) and you will also take all the instant shock away from your engine. Hope this helps and makes sense to you ( i was in a hurry writing it before work)

can it hurt the car? yes, if used improperly. if used correctly, there will be no harm at all. you just have to be sensible about it.

Yup, you'll be fine with a properly set up nitrous kit. Bang for $ they are hard to beat.

Yes as long as you have a good install there should be NO issues on a little 100 shot. Just don't put a DIABLO "93 Octane" tune and put the cheapest gas you can find at the time. But even then your PROBABLY only nip a plug from detonation. Some of those hand helds put a shit load of timing in there tunes and some places have some VERY bad gas!!
Thats my quick 2 cents.... If it matters to you I've been playing with the bottle for 15 years now.Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!
