    Nitrous Question

what setup would I need, and what would need to be done to a 98 TA for it to be able to handle nitrous?

I'm new to the LS1, and never messed with nitrous before...

    thanks!

    you can do it stock

idk about dry shots without removing MAF screen, but you could put in a wet shot up to 150 or so and be fine

100hp wet shot stock will cause no dammage 150 is right on the edge and a fule pump and injectors would be a safe bet if you do that, and before you do any kit at all I would get new plugs and wires to get a colder spark. I have a 98 and have done nothing internaly and am running the NX wet kit with every safety feature needed on a 75 shot soon to bump it up to 100 shot and it took to it like a duck in water so far....

An avrage rule of thumb is for every 10hp gain take 0.1 sec off of your time it all just depends. Perosnally I have not got to go to the track yet because it was closed when I hooked my N02 up but my fastest time was a 14.1 and with a 100 shot im expecting to run about a 13.2-13.3 right in that area.....

These cars will hold a lot more than a 150 shot. I know a few guys that run 200 shots on stock motors. You will need different plugs no matter what size shot. If you go dry you will need to add more fuel in and pull some timing in proportion to how big of a shot you choose, but the stock injectors and pump will keep up. If you go with a wet or direct-port then the extra fuel will be taken care of by the system, so all you will need to do is pull some timing.

Lol yeah 5000+ ft above sea level will take about a good 1nd off of your time. So if I was at sea level my times would be 13.1s and on n02 I would expect 12.2-12.3s right around that area......In Colorado there is very little air, its frustrating but we learn to live with it.....Most Camaros and TAs run high 14s to low very low 15s here stock.

150 wet shot is safe on a stock motor. try the TR6 plug. I only recommend wet, and preferably a plate system.

If you beat him in your firebird you wont need to spray on him in the TA. You wont even have to go all out lol.

guys, im from australia and not to familiar with alot of the cars u are talking about, but was wondering how heavy thes cars are as the times you are talking suggest to me that these cars are seriously heavy. Our LS1 powered Commodore weigh around 1750kg or 3850pound and run mid 13s aspirated, so im guessing your cars are over 4000 pounds would this be correct?

A little bit off the LS1 topic but we run customers skylines with a standard internalled 2.5l inline six cylinder on 16psi boost and 75hp wet shot, run 11.70 @ 124. 5 speed manual on street radials. cars weigh about 3300pounds.

My car without driver is 3350lbs but my times are going to be different because of where I live which is 5000+ ft above sea level because I am in Colorado.....If I was at sea level or where you lived my car would run about a 13 to 13.3 stock do you not understand why I am running a 14.1 or ? As my car sits right now I have a 75 shot of n02 and soon to have true dules and should get into the low low 13s hoping for 12s so that would translate to low 12s to high 11s at sea level or at where you live. Where I live there is just alot less air so cars up here suffer from it. So if you came to Colorado your car would run about a 12.7 to 13 sec 1/4 mile.....
