Black- 2000 WS6
Nitrous Newb
I own a 2000 WS6 and may want to get some nitrous. I have had a few turbo cars and delt with blowers but never Nitrous. Can someone give me the low down on what I should look out for or what I should get for the LS1? I know how it works and what it is...just looking for a recommended shot/ timing/ af ratio.
I would like to do a 75 shot. Will I need a switch chip to run it? Any recommendations on a good safe kit to go for?
Thanks,
Evan

Or you can try the plate system, that is what I recommend. You can spray 150 all day long.

Im looking into the plate setup...whats the best company to use? Should I just get a switch chip made for tuning? Good intake manifold to use for spray?
Thanks,
Evan

As far as plates go, your best bet is Harris Speed Works....its a perimeter style plate, as opposed to the typical design, offering better distribution....Give the guys at Harris a call, they can tell ya everything you'd want to know...and the kit comes complete.
Intake manifold, I wouldn't worry about...for nitrous specific use anyways. I'd just upgrade to an LS6 intake, and call it a day.
I'd also suggest changing your spark plugs for a set of NGK TR6's, gapped down to .035-.040. Colder plug and smaller gap come in handy on the juice....
Oh, and go for at least a 100 shot, the car should take it no problem
A/F and a switch chip, addressing this together....Theres not really a "chip" out there for our cars, like there is for some others. You can get a hand held tuner, that offers multiple tunes....You're best bet would be to take it to a tuner who sells SCT or Diablo (both offer nice handheld tuners) and get motor and nitrous tune....If you tune it yourself and have a wideband, I'd shoot for 11.5-11.8:1 on the kit....some might consider this a lil conservative, but better safe than sorry

how do you guys setup your nitrous? Do you guys run a switch or control it under throttle position?

Wide open throttle switch(WOT), RPM window switch;only allows the NO2 to operate between a MIN RPM and a MAX RPM, and a fuel pressure switch. I know it seems like a lot, but its all in the name of safety.

upgrading the fuel pump is a good idea too.
