    how much can she handle.

I was thinking with going with a 100 or 150 shot but was wondering if you guys think my bottom end can handle it. Right now the car has 420 at the rear wheels and I am not ready to step up to a 408 just yet. Not yet but hopefully soon.

Mods are stage 2 heads and a comp 224 cam with all the major bolt ons. I am just looking for some more power to hold me over till I can afford to drop in a 408.

the motor can handle a 200 shot. i've done it enough times. if you split it into stages, close to 300. your fuel pump will be the weak link in that range.

Damn, 300hp. The 150 jets are insane. You tellin me I can put in a second stage with a larger fuel pump, a progressive controller and run 300HP? Wow.... the car would be a rocket ship. LOL

BTW, the axle would also be the weak spot in that system! LOL

to do 300, it'll take alot of finesse. the first 150 on at 2500, the second on at 4500-5000. this keeps the torque spikes down to a manageable level. the motor won't last forever at these levels.

That would be a 3 stage set-up on a "Mountain Motor"
That also means it has a 5" plus bore and they usually blow a total of 500-600.

Your stock motor can handle about 220-230 without .
The key is having the A/F ratio correct and a fuel system that can keep up.

No you would be hard to find a funny car running any type of nitrous.
But when your running a mountain motor the mtr itself is pushing 1000-1400 and then you figure another 600 that puts you at the 2000 range which is what it takes those door cars to go in the low to mid 6's.
That 3 stage usually won't come on until high gear and well past the 330 mark so they know if it is going to be a good straight pass or not.
