Is a fuel pump necessary?
I have installed a Zex 82026 on my 1999 Z. I have changed he plugs already, I also installed new wires. I still have not sprayed it yet. I am wondering is a fuel pump change a necessity or just insurance? What is the best brand of fuel pump to install if needed? I thinks Zeks recommends 53 PSI with this kit. Thanks for all the help with the stupid questions.

IMHO I think you are good for a 75 -100 shot to be safe. Your pump is old. I would make it a next mod as they are cheap insurance and it would be better peice of mind upping to 125. Now if you only have 50k on your car then maybe you could wait a bit. One thing, do you have a fuel pressure safety switch ? I would have one before spraying at all.

99-00 injectors are small... the problem is not the pump, but the injectors if you running a dry kit. If it's a wet kit, not a problem.

Not Sure Which One You Have But I Have The Zex High Output And Am Running 150 Shot On Stock Fuel System Which Is 58 Psi
Ive Had My A/f Ratio Checked And It Is Fine
I Would Get A Fuel Pressure Safety Switch For Insurance And A Window Switch Is Always Nice To Keep From Spraying At Redline
If You Use A Wide Open Throttle Switch,a Window Switch, and A Fuel Pressure Safety Switch,i Would Say That You Are Okay
I Would At Least Recommend The W.o.t. Switch ,it Can Save You Alot Of Trouble
And Keep An Eye On The Fuel Pressure If You Dont Get That Switch Because A Clogged Filter Can Be Disastrous When Spraying
But Yes I Would Say You Are Okay To Run Up To 150 Shot On Stock Fuel System Any Above That And Youll Want To Be Careful

You are ok with steady pressure up to 125. I usually see a little pressure spike on 150 from the initial hit. Shit as cheap as you can get the WALBRO 255 pumps now I think it's pointless not to upgrade unless you plan on staying with a baby shot. Someone always has them on sale now for $99.
You also stated you changed your plugs....... To what? And what did you gap them at?
Is your ECU still on the stock tune also?Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

get a pump (they are inexpensive) and drill you bucket. or do a 8.1L bucket upgrade. you dont want to suck your bucket dry. but, you may be good for 75-100 on the stock setup, or even more, but its alot cheaper to upgrade fuel systems than it is to upgrade head gaskets, or worse, bottom end.
