    first ls nitrous build

I got a an lq9 free. I was gonna bore and stroke it to a 408. I was thinking a high compression motor with a direct port set up. With a dedicated system with race gasand a completely built motor top and bottom, trans will be a built 350 turbo with 4.10s out back how much can I spray with a spot on tune. Just give me some ideas. Goals are low 10s on slicks at the track. Catch wanna be able to drive on the street. Car is a 2002 trans am ws6. All bolt one full exahsut 102 fast intake, throttle body, no cams yet. Don't want forced induction. Used to have a mustang built for nitrous. I will be building the motor. Thanks anyone for the help

I got a buddy that has a LS1, MS4 cam on 241 heads going thru a built 350 with a 12 bolt rear & DR's. He dyno at 404hp and has been playing with 100 shot till he gets the handle of using N2O. Once he fixes his fuel issue at around 5-6000 rpm (it's breaking up) he'll jump up.

We got a couple of build threads in the internal engine that might help you out.

Welcome! As a general rule, stock internal LS engines will hold up to a 100-125 hp shot. Sounds like you'll be going aftermarket and forged internals with your build, so stepping it up from there shouldn't be an issue. Just make sure your fuel system is up to par with the rest of your build.

Also need to get the right type of rings for Nitrous. If it's stock style rings like Jeff said 100-125. More than that the ring make up and gap comes into play.
