Expired nitrous bottles

Is there anything you can do to have them re-certified? How long is a bottle certified for useally brand new? It's definetely not something that they mention in any nitrous kit.

Never have heard of that, I have two bottles here at the house and neither one has anything on it about expiration date.

there's date codes on the bottles. i think it's every five years they need recertifying. a scuba shop usually can recertify them for you.

Is it on the label of the bottle, or is it stamped into the bottle itself somewhere? I have tow bottles with the labels taken off because they were polished.

the stamping around the top of the bottle. tells you brand and date. catalina and luxfor are the brands.

Learn something new everyday, my bottles are over five years old I know. Guess I'll see where I can find a place to get them recertified.

if you go and race in a NHRA/IHRA sanctioned race, they will check. normal test n tune nights, they usually don't check.

Some of the welding shops will re cert bottles also.
Yeah you can check some of your local machine shops too they usually won't check the date either.
