Congratulations to bhunter0830 on the July COTM win!

First of all, thank you to those who voted.

I have 2000 Trans Am that I have owned now for two years. When I was in high school I had a friend who owned a 98 Trans Am. I always wanted one but couldn't convince my parents to let me get one... So if you can't get a Trans Am, you end up with a Grand Am when your 18... All of you know that is not anywhere close to the same.

After spending years and I mean years of looking for the right one I found this one in Northern Michigan. With my career I travel all over Michigan. I was on my way to an appointment in Petoskey. It was pouring down rain when I drove by. I told myself, if it was not raining when I got back to Traverse City I'll stop and take a look at it. Sure enough the sky cleared and I stopped and took it for a drive. Had 84,000 miles, 1 owner and unmolested. Wasn't perfect by any means, but it just seemed right. He was asking $7500 for it. As good as that sounds, I was not paying that price. I offered him $5000 cash, after a few moments of going back and forth I hung my head, got back in my truck and drove home. I literally pulled in my drive way when he called me and told me if I could get $500 more it was mine. Jumped in my truck and drove the hour and twenty minute drive back, and drove it home that night.

Since then I have made the following updates and mods:

    Frost Tuned

    Founders Performance
    - Adjustable Pan Hard
    - Lower Control Arms
    - Lower Control Arm Relocation Brackets
    - Strut Tower Brace

    - 17x8.5 Front

    DIY cooling sytem flush

When i did it i had on jack stands as high as i needed to get under confortable. If leveled it will drain some but it won't be that much of a difference.

    Hard water spots

Our water is pretty hard -- we drink it with a fork and knife. Don't wash a car in the sun and get it dry using an Absorber as soon as you can. No issues

Oil Catch Can and Other Solutions

Seafoam is a bit harsh in my opinion. I would install the catch can, clean the throttle body and run TCW3 in the fuel.

    DIY cooling sytem flush

    Loved this (albeit old) thread.

Can someone clarify. . . with the engine block coolant plugs pulled, don't you have to have the car level
