    catted y pipe question

I just put on a set of lt's and i got the catted y, it is a qtp y, and on the drivers side it is only about 5 inches off the ground and the brace that is behind the tranny brace wouldnt go back on after everything was in. Is this a normal problem and is that brace important? The headers went in no problems but the y pipe was very bad fitting.

I left the brace off and have had no problems since. I had banged it into shape with a hammer to get it back on there, but it caused a lot of squeeks and rattles. You should be fine leaving it off.

My brace if off with my Pacesetter LT, and I only have 4-5 inches clearance. So is life with Lt's and a LS1

I bent my brace and put it back in.

If it'll fit, put it in, if not, leave it out.

Nothing major. It's thin and flimsy anyways, how much could it really do?
