    Pushrod Length?

Just got a comp cam and valve springs for my 2000 Z28, Advertised Duration 265/ 271, Lift .558/ .563. Wondering if any one has installed a similar cam or if anyone knows if i will need different then stock length pushrods.

That's because those are the advertised duration numbers. You may be thinking of the aftermarket duration numbers @.050" lift. Advertised duration is understood to measure the duration @.006" lift. So, the duration numbers @.050" are smaller numerically.

use a stock length chrome moly pushrod and you will be fine. you can get good deals on them on ebay.

Sorry, but I'm too lazy to look for examples.

And keep in mind that there is no direct relationship between advertised and aftermarket duration values. So, not all cams with a 283 advertised duration will have an aftermarket duration of 230. It also depends on the ramp rate. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

As far as the pushrods, make sure you get hardened pushrods as preventative maintance from bent or snapped ones.

    Running stock lifters??

Base circle of the new cam is most likely a little smaller than the stocker.
    Either 7.400" (stock'ish') or 7.425" pushrods.
    Do hardened regardless.

When I put in a TR 230/224 575/563 110 lsa, I used some 7.400 hardened pushrods by TR and they worked fine---stock ls1 block and heads. When I built my 383 using a 2006 LSX block, patriot S2 heads, and a comp 232/234 595/598 112 lsa, I had to get 7.475s. What I'm trying to say is, depends on your overall application and set up. Pushrod length checker is $20 and money well spent. Just a little too short and it will sound worse than a sewing machine.
    Just my $.02 though

Haha, yeah right, I forgot. That's why you need a smaller cam for emissions.

Pffft. Just the difference in the cam specs could create a new cam.
