How to product...

Ok lets say i come up with a new product... I'll say its a light up first emblem for the tail section of a T/A... its not so dont actually comment on that particular product...

so i go out and get all i need to home make this bad boy... and get myself one done up... turns out really nice and i descide hey maybe there is a market for this... I mean this thing is awesome... lets say i even istall an inferno setting that changes the light to look like there is a flame behind the bird...

So i make lets say 50 kits and sell them around the net...

How do i keep a company or other individual from just saying oh sweet i think ill make that (other than just DIYer that only want one dont want to make any profit off of it)...

you have to remeber that no every one has thousands of dollars for lawyers and so forth... on a budget how do i get the rights to that design so that i might even be able to see the rights to a company and make some cash without having to make them and sell them myself after?

You have to get a patent which cost in the 10,000 range nad a pain in the butt.
