gto starters

WTF

is there something special about the GTO starter as compared to all the other LS X starters? Mine is going bad and been looking for a replacement, been gettin the run around on "it only fits the GTO" answer. Help

I've heard one other time that someone was having a hard time getting a new starter, couldn't find one, and the cost was crazy.
