Upgrading to Z06 brakes on the Z28....
I bought the red powdercoated Z06 calipers (GM), ceramic corvette brakes (GM), vented/slotted corvette rotors (GM), and Goodridge stainless line set. I have heard I need to purchase a bracket somewhere that will mount the front calipers to my Z28. Anybody have an idea where I can find those brackets? I already have 850 bucks invested in those parts. I hope it is worth it.

send an email to trackbird@columbus.rr.com
He sells the brackets and are really tested... there are some imitations around but I wouldn't trust them as much. His username is trackbird on all boards.
He was running a GP not long ago.

For what it's worth, you can run the ZO6 front calipers on the stock f-body rotor size with the F-body pads.
I do.

I found a guy on ebay selling the whole kit. He was selling the entire setup for 779 w/o shipping. I paid about 150 for the stainless brake lines, and about 700 for the Z06 calipers, hawk pads, and drilled/slotted GM performance rotors. He set me up with the brackets, bolts, and other misc. crap to make it work, but he wants over 400 bucks!!! I smell a rat. Why would the whole kit be about 800, and just the POS brackets and bolts be over half the expense?

So, both calipers fit, but if I want to upgrade the rotor size, I will need to buy all the other stuff. It seems that I can buy the f-body power slot rotors, and just sell the corvette rotors, and everything should fit. You guys think that would work?

If you're going to use the ZO6 calipers and rotors, you're gonna need to change the bracket and have to use a 17" wheel the whole time.

I have all the parts to do the upgrade, and I was wondering if I can use my old stainless brake lines with the new Z06 calipers? Or are they a different size???
Thanks

keep it srock... not worth thte $ and effort... increasing braking in the back will reduce your overall braking. most braking happens in the front... getting a stronger bite in the front will transfer more weight to the front, requiring more front bite and less rear bite... if you increase the rear, you'll lock the rear, while the front can take more, abs kicks in and it limits your braking power.
