Grille Removal?
I've read on here somewhere before about how to remove the front grilles on our cars. I talked to a cop the other day about license plate laws, and he said I can get two fix it tickets without any marks on my record, so i say, what the hell. I'm gonna buy a nice SS grille for my car. Now I just need to find out how to remove the old one. any tips?

I have done a few of these before, and usually, they just pull out. The sides always pull out easy. Its in the middle that is sometimes tricky. Don't yank too hard on the middle or you can potentially tear up the bumper cover. If the rivets won't detach from the middle part by tugging, you can take a dremel and cut the plastic rivets fairly easy. If its not a stubborn one, expect 10 minutes to remove it.

The only way I could think of would be to take the entire bumper cover off and try to remove the rivets from the back side, and I don't even know if that would work honestly. I think you can pick up those grilles for $30 if that helps ease your mind any. Every time I have removed one of those grilles, they have been way beyond salvaging.

ah, well, guess I'll have to do that then. I was hoping for an easy switch. darn. maybe I shouldn't bother with another grille.

I pulled mine off all together. It says camaro behind the grill and I like it cuz it is the same color as the car. The only down side is that you see the tab holes where the grill attached to the bumper cover. I still think it looks good though.

pretty much, dont yake off your bumper though, be smart about how you pull it of. With the picuture i have you can see where each of the pins, or whatever you want to call them go into, so just try and focus pulling from each of those one at a time.

I know this thread is old, but I've regained interest in a new grille. me and my brother are gonna try to make a new custom one based off of the Berger Camaros. are the tabs on the back of the grille like the ones on the sides of it? where they just get bent back to come out? if anyone could post a picture of the back of their grille with the tabs, it would help out greatly.
