It is hot, sand/dust gets in EVERYTHING and you never feel clean. We didn't have running water so our "showers" were wooden structures that dumped water on you whether it was hot or cold. Porn is traded like money and you fall really behind on current events back home. Every chance you get, you try and get some sleep since it seems like you can never quite get enough. Each day is extremely unpredictable, you never know what is going to happen and you can never guess where you'll be next week, next month, etc.

Im here know in Al Taqqadum been here since Jan ..being where I am is very easy compared to othere that have it much worse..if you want to get an Idea what its like here...carry around a vest that weighs 30-45 lbs, with a 2x4 about 3 ft long strapped to your back, in the middle of the night when you get up to take a piss walk out side go down about 3 houses then come back and go take a piss..oh and get dressed and take your 2x4..wear flip-flops every time you take a shower..that will only give you a taste of what its like here for some..others its much worse..those in COPS/JSS have it much much worse...I had the displeasure of having to process the remains of 2 soldiers from a unit in our BDE that was killed..the kicker was they went about 2 weeks apart the first was sniped gettin out of his Tank the other was his replacement doing the same job as the first guy...fucked up place here cant wait to leave...my girl is here to I worry bout her everyday she happends to be in a relatively quite area but that usually doesnt last long...thanks for your support....

ive been back for 2 years but the only reason for that is our unit went through the apache longbow transition and thatis a full year long and I had to go back to VA for a transistion course which was a few months long.
I wish I was there right now because of course the deployment is timed perfectly to stop loss me for at least 6 months and all i wanna do is get out. funny how you cant get out whenever you want but they can extend you whenever they feel like it

10 U.S. Troops Die in Iraq ... 6 on Easter Sunday & 7 NATO Soldiers also Killed in Afghan Blasts.
47 Iraqi bodies dumped including 17 executed today on Easter Sunday.
The powerful Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr ordered his militiamen on Sunday to redouble their battle to oust American forces and argued that Iraq's army and police should join him in defeating "your archenemy."

Al-Sadr is the Anti-American *Death to America* Imam Bush allowed into the *Puppet* Iraqi Parliament since this war began for reasons unkonwn yet, and is now in Iran directing the militia insurgency in Iraq.
For all of you there that have lived another day ... Happy Easter!Last edited by eddierox; 04-08-2007 at 01:03 PM.
