Anyone doing any major mods for this up coming summer?

Well Race season is about 3 1//2 months away now! Im excited to get ack racing if I can get my car finished.

So what all mods have you guys done over the winter and what are you looking to get out of your ride this year?

I have been working weekend to weekend trying to get mine were I need it. I just got the motor pulled last weekend and wiring out. going to sand blast the engine bay tomorrow and get ready paint. Also installing my new turbo, along with new wiring harness, Launch control, Injectors, Fuel rail, Exhaust manifold, Power Commander, and Roll cage installed.

Im looking to get 650-750 RWHP this year out of my 240 and hoping to get it in the low 6's to high 5's in the 1/8 mile. I just hope my rear end holds up!!

wow looks like your doing alot, but for me its just the little stuff.

so far since my 12.27 run i have removed 58lbs, relocated the battery to the trunk, changed the 2-3 shift from 6500 to 6200(keeps it in its power band), and replaced my steel driveshaft(19lbs) for an aluminum(11lbs) other then that i want to see what it will run with those changes. hoping for an 11.99 and a 1.69 60' at about 112 or 113 mph, but most likely it will run in the 12.0 range.

if that doesn't get me there will order the light weight k-member(30lbs) and a fiberglass hood for another 25lbs. 11's are very close

after all this is done it will get some afr 205cc heads with a good cam

Nice!!! Sonds like you will be in the 11's.

Are you still running the stock rear end?

Those heads and cam combo should get you there without removing any more weight.

I took almost 200 pounds out of my car and put some 40" wheel tubs in it, getting a new rear end, Torque Arm setup and new c-moly drive shaft.

Then going to get some 29x11.5 hoosiers for it until I buy my 15x12's, then I'll go to a 30 or 31 x 14" section tire.

Pretty happy with it, still have the back seat too.

Oh did some custom stuff, moved the factory shock in 1" and moved the lower control arms in about 2 more inches, so the tub to fender is 17" and I have 16.5" from the lower control arm to the fender for clearance.

So basically 16.5" to stuff a tire into.

Then I am getting my rear narrowed 4.5" per side and using my rims I have now, then later I will get a 15x12 with 5" back space and put the 30 or 31" tire on it.

Uncle sam F-ed me this rear was hoping to get more money back for the family come tax time

Can't wait to just drive it, think I'll throw a small nitrous kit on it to play with till I can afford to build an FI combo. Stock crank, with some after market rods and pistons and some nice heads and try to shoot for 800hp on pump gas @6,000 rpm. At least that would be the idea goal.

    Then it will be fun

If you're adding all that I would also go with a higher flow rate fuel pump, at least a 255 lph, and if the nitrous kit is a dry kit, with the added power from the cam/heads/intake/exhaust combo you may also want to consider slightly larger injectors.

A tune with that many changes and the addition of nitrous would be pretty much mandatory.

Also consider colder spark plugs and adding some higher octane gas when spraying the car to add some additional safety, as well as pulling some timing when on the nitrous.

Sounds like a cool combo and should be well over 500 rwhp, easily putting you in the 10's with traction and some chassis work, keep us updated and post some photos when you get the goodies

the nitrous kit is a wet shot,i have ngk tr6s going in,im going to go with 36lb injectors with 255 walbro pump and a good tune,i usually run 93 in it right now,i hope it all goes together well, then next will be a moser 9 in near future with 430 gears.
