    Stoping Y-pipe rattle w/o melting

After recent longtube/Y-pipe install I have been experiencing some rattling. I know exactly what it is, and where it is comming from. It is the driver side of the Y-pipe hitting the transmission crosmember tab. Now is there something i could stick in there to stop this w/o it melting. Perhaps like a high temp. foam or foam wrapped in high temp. duct tape or something else im not even thinking of. Any ideas would help a lot.

I use heater hose held on with 2 - 3 1/2" hose clamps at either end of the hose that is wedged between the y-pipe and floorboard. The heater hose does break down though... I thought about trying to use a header wrap next...

What exactly is a header wrap? will it stay resistant to the heat?

Have you guys tried loosening your exhaust up and adjusting it? I had problems with the Y hitting and finally got under there and loosened the exhaust all the way back to where it went over the axle. I adjusted it and tightened everything back down and all is good. I tried just adjusting the Y pipe first but that didn't help. I had to loosen the intermediate pipe also because that angle is critical.

Darn good point, but I had to Sawzall my stock y-pipe off and when I went to get it patch welded they welded the whole system together headers/ORY/I-pipe, so I am FUBAR with that. Will have to sawzall when the time comes to remove or replace...

Use a piece of rubber hose between the crossmember and the y pipe, run a screw clamp thru the hose around the y pipe.
