    3200 to 3600 stalls come in..Help Please..

Doing a stall real soon here. Trying to convince myself to go bigger than 3200 as everyone always says they wish they did. Any opinions between Vig and Yank? Also, how much more RPM does it take to get going with a 3600 than a 3200 stall. This will be a semi DD and will be doing HEADS/CAM a bit later. Currnet mods in sig along with SUBFRAME AND STRUT TOWER BRACE. Thanks in advance for your knowledge...

I think you would be happer with either, but if you are staying NA go with the Vig 3600

Just got the Vig3600 because my fuddle clutch went bad. I must say it is a fine convertor and am definitely happy with it so far.

Both Yank and Vig are top notch companies, Vigs, from what I've heard and read flash higher, than their stated stall size. If you go Vig, you can try a 3200 stall first, cause they offer one free restall, then you could go to 3600 or bigger if 3200 wasn't enough.
I have a Yank ss3600 and love it. Hits hard, great drivibility as well. I would say 3600 since you plan on head/cam later on.
As far as the rpms, it won't be that much of a difference when taking off.

Thanks for all the info. so far, much appreciated!! Any other thought or opinions would be excellent. Could anyone get specific how much more RPM it takes to get going. That is my biggest concern. Thanks again.

Now the Vigalante is what I call a loose convertor. I have the 3200-3400 vig and I'm running a MS4 on the street with 3.73 gears and I love it. I have found out that the more you increase your hp adding/heads/cams/boltons the higher the convertor will stall. I just changed out the tranny for a new 700hp/4L60e and while it was down I sent the convertor back to Percision for a free restall/cleanout of the convertor. I could have had it restalled to any rpm I wanted but I just told them to clean her out and restall at 3200-3400 again. Because you've messed up if you burn up your tranny, buy a new one and stick your old stall back on there. It just dumps all that burnt fluid and clutch material back that stays in the old convertor. I can get out on the road and just give it enough gas to run 3000 rpm and let it walk thru the gears when I'm being carefull because of wet weather/ too many cops or I can stomp it and it will almost stall all the way to 4 grand melting the BFG 315s on the back. But you can crank it up and idleing at 800 it will pull the car around like it owns it. So if you crank it up and put it in gear without your foot on the gas it isn't gonna just sit there till you give it gas. Its gonna pull you around like it owns you. Which is excellent because you can lope around a low speed at the Sonic with your cutouts open and rattle everybody ride.

4.10's MS3 and Vig 3600 here. Taking off easily i usually pull about 14-1500 rpm's to get moving and it usually shifts and hovers around 2000.

Yeah mines about the same too with vig 3600. just depends how heavy your foot is. Its not like it hits 3000 rpms just to move the car.

I notice you have a 2002 vehicle, you should consider replacing the weak flexplate with a TCI SF29 unit, both Jeg's and Summit sells them, you have to remove 3 of the 5 bolts anyway to replace the converter.

Either Yank or Vig is a good converter, however the latter is a 9 1/2" unit opposed to a 10 1/2" (Yank) so don't forget the tranny cooler.
