    Factory Paint job

Okay, i have had my 2004 GTO with the impulse blur, for almost three years now. when i brought it home me and my dad were kinda concernced about the paint job it is not smooth like all the other cars we have. The Paint also seems to be chipping and i know it is not from sctraches cause i am the guy that parks away from every one and walks like a mile to the storeaftre parking. so i was wondering if any one else is have problems with the paint too or has talked to the dealer about it? thanks

Ive had my 04 for about 2 1/2 years now its my dd i do have quite a bit of chips on the front bumper and tip of the hood( the rest of the car is beautiful), i thought cause i bought it with 10k on it that maybe the previous owner had a crappy repaint on it. I do drive on the highways and little rocks fly at me all the time. It hasn't got bad enough to make the car look bad but i was thinking of maybe next year having sanded and repainted..... but to answer your question it does seem like the paint comes off like a prom dress

    Exclamation Have seen..

posts on other forums about the clearcoat being messed up. Seems the paint didn't take well to being in ocean salt air for many days/weeks, during transport of down under.
In some cases, the clear actually let go. In others, it turned cloudy.

I have heard of many cases on other GTO forums that people are having issues with thier paint. Take tit to the dealer, maybe they will help you out.

it was on the LS1/GTO forum. It's found at:
    http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/.

I do remember that the dlrs were using a hairdryer, to warm the clearcoat, so the cloudy appearance would disappear. In some cases, the finish had to be removed and reapplied.
