Tokico HP shocks are best suited for stock spring rates and ride heights. They are intended to be used as an upgrade to OEM GM shocks. Since Bilstein has changed their valvings, we actually prefer the damping level in the Tokico over the current day Bisltein HD valving. If your shocks are shot and you need well valved replacements that will improve the car's tracking and impact harshness and aren't looking for the ultimate in high performance--Tokico's are the shocks we recommend.
Tokico's can be used with lowering springs if desired, but there are other options that I feel are better suited for use with lowering springs.Sam Strano
