Humming Noise
Everytime I start up my car there is a humming noise for like 4 or 5 seconds and then it suddenly stops. I assume this is normal, just something to do with the engine start-up. I'm sure its not the fuel pump. But sometimes the noise will last for up to like 3-4 minutes. Does anyone have the same issue in their car and is it normal for the noise to last that long.

Air pump in the right front fender well / nose of car. I think they all do that normally. To get to it, I think you get it from under the car...

If it's not the fuel pump and only happens on cold starts my next guess would be the air pump. Pull the AIR PUMP fuse when it's making the noise and see if it stops - will throw a code but will go off after a few cycles after replacing it by itself.

I don't think it is the AIR pump becuase I hear the sound everytime I start the car and most of the time it is just a quick (3-4 second) sound and then it shuts off. It sounds like some kind of normal "start-up sound". Its just that sometimes it last a lot longer than 3-4 seconds.

Mine use to do the same thing too... I removed all the smog junk, for drag racing, and now it's quiet !!! ( unless the headers are uncapped ) But, it is normal in your case !!! Nothing to worry about !!!

You also might want to check if your starter gear isn't hanging on to the Flywheel/Flexplate gear. You can check this by having someone start your car and feeling the case of the starter. If this is the problem you will definitely feel it vibrating. If it is hanging up, pull the starter (careful not to lose the spacers on the bolts for proper backspacing gear alignment) and lube the starter/gear shaft with a little white lithum grease.
