Borla/LT headers/!cats = Rasp

I read several post about getting rid of rasp. I want to do it right the first time. Should I put Cats on my Y pipe? (Can a shop install them for me? or do I have to buy a new Y pipe with cats?) Also, can I still use the o2 sims with those cats?

Or should I install bullets? If so Where do these go and where can I get them from.

Sorry for all the noob questions.

RASP?? well maybe your problem is that you have a ls1...this is my lt1 z with lt's, 3' ory, no cat, and borla....ohh and its not cammed....the captains hungover, and wants more booze

well u can weld them in (custom) or buy a catted y pipe

People are always bitching about the LM sounding like shit with ORY and headers. It is nice to hear someone admit their $700 Borla sounds just as bad. IMO the Borla exhaust is the raspiest thing on the planet w/ headers and ORY. I much prefer the LM. Also true about the LS1 vs/ LT1. The LS1 is a much raspier sounding engine by design. LT1's sound much better. But thats about all they do better

Well I made a full block off plate 16 gauge metal and my rasp is gone. the only bad part is all the exhaust goes thru the muffler and it makes the car sound lopsided..lol. So I am going to make another 16 gauge plate with about a 1 inch diameter in the center and see if the rasp is still gone. I will let you know this weekend.
