    Headers!

I am currently running slp headers and y-pipe. It was the worst mistake of my life and a lot of wasted money... I am looking into new headers and have heard alot good things about pacesetter and kooks lt's. What about shortys and is there a big diff. in hp? What would be a good choice for a new y-pipe also?
    Thanks alot,
    Jason

P.S. The more info the better, would be appreciated...
The reason for getting rid of the headers is I am always bottoming out..( speed bumps, pot holes, debris in the road), I am always worried about the damage that could be done to the engine, especially if i catch something good with them. I ahve had them on since last June and have been hitting shit since day 1.

Shortys are about the equal of stock manifolds. If you ever plan to cam your LS1, I would highly recommend going long tubes to allow for the full benefit of the cam gains. Pacesetters are great. You wouldn't be disappointed with them at all. Kooks are great as well, just a lot more in price than Pacesetters. Sorry you went the SLP route to begin with, its a hard lesson to learn

if nothing other than bottoming out from time to time, keep them.

Granted I'm not fond of SLP LTs but why are you looking to get rid of them? Are they not working for you?

Pacesetters are good headers for a great price. We sold tons of them. Kooks are excellent but obviously more expensive. Keep in mind...with SS LTs they won't rust in the long run.

I personally would stay away from Shorties. The gains are not worth the money. Any further mods to the engine and the shorties won't be enough for you.
