Red Fire- 2007 Mustang GT/CS
Ok, I know this is weird..
I got this B-day card from my son, and long story short, when you open the card George Thurogood <sp?> "Bad to the Bone" starts playing, a nice clean digital rendition.. it works off a 3v DC battery..
This is my thought. I would like to pull the door open chime and install this unit.. I would need to install some resistors ? to drop the incoming voltage from 12v DC to 3v DC..anyone know what resistors I may need ? or where I can go to find this info ?
I just thought it would be funny to hear "Bad to the Bone" play when I opened the door instead of the ding ding ding I usually get..
As always any thoughts are welcome..

hahaha, thats an awesome idea.
I wanted to wire up some LED's for the interior light on my truck, so I just went to radioshack and bought some 5V blue LED's and asked the salesman which resistors i'd need to reduce the voltage down to 5 from 12. Believe it or not the guy was knowledgable enough to be able to give me a breifing on LED's etc and the voltage reduction of the resistors blah blah blah, anyhow my point is, try radioshack, they may in fact be able to help.

Seems the chime is internal to the BCM ( body control module ) so my idea may be dead before it even starts. Altho I am contemplating installing it anyhow and disconnecting the driver's door ( only ) and running the door switch to just that module .. that way the song only kicks on when I open that door.. and Thanks the guy at Radio Shack said " Oh yeah, you need blah blah I have that in stock."
Sahweet !! Should have it in tomorrow

Yeah, I think i read somewhere on here about the chime being built into that mod. Good luck! (maybe post a short video clip? :-P)

Just a note to let you all know where I am at...
I guess me an Paul (tech at my work) are gonna yank just the door jamb switch for the driver's side door and run it to the little module.
I got to radio shack and they had an inverter ...<sigh>
I found a chart online to help figure out what resistors I need, but the math is making my head hurt. Math is NOT my strong suit..
One of the tech's thinks his GF can figure it out tho, she's in Med School for Pharmacist Training (heh)
I will post a small clip if I can figure out how to record sound on my phone.

I was hoping that someone that has multiple years of calculus and physics would be slightly better at math than someone that hasn't had 8 years of college education. I could be wrong I guess, as anything is possible, haven't heard back yet due to her work load and all. Guess if I wasn't so lazy I would sit down and figure out what resistors I need - Was sorta hoping someone here would read this and have some Beneficial advice. So far tho, I am batting zero.
