dont hate me
i do have a z28 camaro (13.1)et that i love but i also have a truck
ok its a dodge but it is cool its a 1988 dodge ram 150 4x4 short bed with a 4 inch lift with 31x1250 procomps
it used to have a 318 that ran 19.3 in the quarter, hey stop laughing
well i pulled that motor out after 250 thousand miles and put in a 440 big block with headers, msd, edelbrock intake , carb . it feels alot faster then the 318 but i made a mistake when i bought the 440 , it has 8.1:1 compression ration with .425 lift cam i am going to gateway next tuesday and am hoping for a 16.8,
when i get the body work done and my camaro to run low 12's i am going to rebuild the 440 with high compression pistons big cam edelbrock heads and prabably a 496 stroker kit. sound cool?
well my question is will my truck beat a lowered fullsize longbed 97 v6 vortech stock truck, i have a case of bud kight beat on this so i don't want to lose, LOL what would that truck run
will get back after gateway with some et

if you are a good driver you might get a high 14 et. my bet is low 15s with those huge tires

those things do the 1/4 in 16.0. go whoop him up

my truck is an auto and the 440 was rated at 260 hp with 360 tq stock, i do have headers performer intake 750 carb and msd distributor ,maby i am at 300hp? the truck only weighs 4500 and it has 3.21 rear gear ratio so i don't think i will run a 14
really think a fullsize truck with v6 4.3 will do 16.0
well i will post my truck times next wednesday

I have an 84 ram 150, 4 inch lift, 4x4, 15 in. centerlines and 35in M/T baja claws, it too has 3.21 gears and a peg leg, I replaced the 318 after 400,000 miles and swapped in a 440 out of a 77 cordoba, I rebuilt it stock at first, and it ran a 16.87@83, and now it has edelbrock alum. heads, comp. cams cam, thorley tri-ys and .456 gears, took her to the track last month and she went 15.4@92, but the holley carb I have is only a 650, need to get the 770 truck avenger, and should get into the deep 15s, also I live around 5500 ft. , hope this helps you

well the truck ran a 16.3 at 82mph with a 2.3 60 ft on a hot 85 degree night and i beat the lowrider by 4 lenghs the next day
cant wait ot see what heads, cam, gears, and and stroker kit does

that's really good, what elevation are you at? yeah the cam really woke mine up, if it's gonna be a race/street truck look into a stall converter with those gears, it'll help alot

i live in missouri and the track is gateway, elevaton? i would have to look it up the get the number
i am worried about the stall converter being to muck punishment on my transfer case and rear end, i have the new process 203 and heard that the like to give way under stress and the parts are discontinued, a guy told me a new process 205 is much more stout and is the way to go
do you think a chrysler 9.25 is worth building, the ford nine inch is tough but i would rather have all chryler parts

definately, but the 8 3/4 rear-ends are a very stout piece, properly built they'll hold up to 5-600 hp, you have the NP203?? wierd I have the 205, I think if you put some good axles(moser, richmond, strange etc) and some good gears like 4.11+ also(moser richmond etc.) then put some good U-Joints (spicer) and you'll be preety well off, one thing I would do before all that is add an aluminum external transmission cooler if you already haven't, it'll save the tranny. let me know what you end up doing

the np 203 is chain driven right? and the 205 is gear, i have even heard that the 205 is lighter
i do have the tranny cooler always a good idea
