    Head Gasket Question

Hi, I have a 94 camaro z28 with a blown head gasket. I was wondering if i'll need to take the whole engine out for the job to be done or not. Thanks.

No, you don't need to pull the engine out of the car to change the gasket. But you'll have more room if you did pull the engine.
The heads can be pulled with the engine in the car.

dont pull the engine.. that would make the job more difficult in my opinion. But I would take the hood off for sure. Thats easy. I did the head gaskets on my LT1. I am thinking this will be my last F-body. Definately my last LT1. I'm tired of GM and I dont like Ford. Only Gm I would get is a vette.

Your car will sound like you are runnin headers even if you are not, and trust me it is LOUD! You might even hear some clicking sounds commin from your engine bay. It happened to me recently and the best way to describe the sound I heard was similar to a Lawnmower when you are mowing the lawn.

Just my .02 I may be wrong, but that is what happened to my T/A.

Oil in the coolant... coolant in the oil. White smoke out of the exhaust, accompanied by a sweet kind of smell. Loss of power, rough running, rough idle, loss of coolant (keep checking the level).

Those are the big ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Never heard of em. Plenty of people have great luck with the felpros, all the way up to the big time built and boosted guys. Cometics are more finicky, but again, alot of people have had good luck with them.

I use felpros and they work great! A buddy of mine who races up at Bandimere all the time uses felpros and nothing else, but if there is something out there that works better and for your app, I say do what you gotta do!
