Max size in porting TB?
I want to port and polish my tb for my 2000 ss camaro. I think the stock size is 75mm. How many mm can i shave off? Any input would be great.

Most people port to 78mm...not sure if you can shave off more though.

the blade does not get bigger, theres just a ridge around the inside before the blade that is about 2mm

CAREFULL with that ridge!! If your stock, you can complicate idle! Just port all up to the ridge/ feather port your way up there! You can also fill the IAC valve port to promote higher port speed!

Not good for low speed air velocity, but helps define/envelope more horsepower by increasing volume of air!

Porting ridge modifies tuning efforts done by GM whom purposely created it to speed up port velocity to help encourage low speed torque! Ive ported them out and only ran into idle problems with stock LS1's! They do not perform any better either: very sluggish out of the hole. However, they do work well with a cammed -up LS1's!!
