    GTO driveshaft question

I was wondering if any fellow GTO owners had changed out the stock two piece driveshaft on their car to either a 3.5 inch aluminum or a 3.25 inch carbon fiber driveshaft? Does the stock LS-2 have enough power to trash the driveshaft or just forget it unless you have a blower or head/cam car? Thanks

I broke my stock aluminum driveshaft in two on my Trans Am so I'd say that LS2 could trash a 2 piece one easily on some sticky tires.

I take it that you are talking about the Aussie Holden Monaro/ GTO!! The factory two piece tailshaft with the rubber BCD couplings are very strong and do hold big H/P. Mal

Yes I have in my 04. We installed the 3 1/2" Extreme Performance driveshaft.
Simple install. No turning back though as you must cut off about 2" of the spindle shaft. I have had it on for awhile with zero issues. I see many who went with the BMR are having vibration issues....I have never had any vibration at all....trap speeds in excess of 120mph smooth as silk.
This is my signature. It is mine. Nobody else has one like it.
