    Tire size problem?

I have a set of p7000's on my TA all four tires are 275's. I noticed that the front tires rub on the wheel well when the wheel is cut all the way. It doesnt seem to be a problem since i only cut the wheel all the way when i turn around in my driveway or if i'm doing donuts. I'd like to get the car lowered 1 to 1.5 ". Would this make my problem worse? what hsould i do?

275's are stock tire size for T/A so unless you have aftermarket wheels with incorrect backspacing, there should be no rubbing?

Does anyone think it will get worse if the car is lowered?

I have a set of 285X35X18 on a 9.5 wide rim 43MM back space, and my tires rub when the wheel is turned all the way also, however ask yourself, "When I drive, how often do I clock the wheel all the way?" my answer was nill to never.

If it is rubbing teh plastic liner, dont worry about it. I am running 285/40R17's up front, they touch ever so lightly, and after 35k miles I havent had any problems. If it concerns you that much, just shim the plastic liner at the front corner about a inch and it will push the liner further into the fender a bit and will allow for larger tires without rubbing. -Tim

BTW I had P7000SS tires on my car, I dont know about you, but when they got worn, they were like driving on bricks the tire was so hard. I thought the construction quality was junk as the sidewalls are thin as paper. A 93 load index didnt tickle my fancy either, just reinforcing my ideas of their weak contruction. -Tim

I have had very good luck with BFGs, but the G-Force KDs are pricey.

Can anyone answer my question? Will the rubbing get worse if the car is lowered? I might get it lowered 1-1.25".

You shouldn't get more rubbing from lowering the car. Unless its rubbing in the upper part of the wheel well. Thankfuly with most F-Body's when they lower an inch or so you dont get a camber issue.
