clutch???

i have 43,000 miles on my clutch no abuse miles but why does it shutter sometimes when i take off???

The flywheel might need to be resurfaced or it's no longer lined up correctly. That's my guess at least. But, it'd have to get pretty hot for the flywheel to warp itself that bad assuming 'no abuse' is true. Clutch alignment is hard to miss too considering it's virtually a go/no-go when getting the trans input shaft to line up with the clutch and pilot bearing.

The other thing it could be is driving style maybe? If you ride the clutch to get the car rolling really smooth from every stop....that might kill clutch life & performance. It is possible to baby it too much.

i'm not the original owner one other person owned this car but never abused. it was babyed an older man. i do let the clutch out slow but i never had problems with my other cars. is there a z06 clutch in the 01-02 ss?? i think they heat up??
