Blue- 2002 SS
Pedal Travel
Recent issues with the clutch on my 2002 SS pointed towards the master cylinder and/or slave cylinder. Car has 57,000 miles and has been driven pretty easy. My mechanic, a guy with 20 years experience building drag and show cars, determined the master was the issue and his shop replaced it yesterday.
The clutch now works adequately, but the pedal feel is completely different and worrisome. Previously the clutch engagement was smoth and progressive throughout the release. Now there is no engagement for the first 80% of pedal travel, then at the top it engages. Feels very odd and makes for jumpy shifts.
Any ideas? Is there any adjustment to control the clutch engagement? Doesn't seem to indicate air in the line, but could that be an issue?
