    $3725 for the shortblock alone.

Built everything aside from the shortblock.

    A little torque.
    I have seen my 402 outpower 408's.

    Just depends on the build.
Texas Speed isn't a sponsor so I can't really comment, but they built mine.

there is no 1 better than the other. it depends on what your goals are and what your trying to achieve. also, depends on how deep your pockets are. the bigger the cubes...the more doe your laying out.

A wise man once said "there is no replacement for displacement"....
when it comes to cubic inches, bigger is always better.
it all boils down to what you can afford,
speed costs money, how fast u wanna go?

What would be the big difference between a stock 5.7L, and a 396, thinking of swapping. Don't mean to thread jack.

A 5.7 liter is 346 cubic inches. 396 cubic inch motor is around 6.8 liters or so.

    no 6.0 = 402 /408
so the 396 is right about 6.0
    the 427= 7.0
