    '99 Z28 vs. '03 cobra

My '99 z28 with LM and a shifter vs. '03 cobra with full exhaust and a pulley. I got my ass handed to me twice by about 3-4 cars from 65- around 130. I think my car did pretty well though.

that is pretty good considering that cobra could be above 400rwhp.

Nice death. Props to you for admitting you were killed. I don't think many do. I would, but honestly, I haven't been killed yet. I just haven't had a chance to race anything all that fast.

Nice death...you did very good for your mods...With a pulley and exhaust they put down well over 400whp...my suggestion is to add a blower your self and even the score...(cam/nitrous/turbo also would work)

I got my butt handed to me by an 04 Cobra just two days ago. I have about 390 HP, and 410's being installed today. Might be able to give him a run now.

Quick question. Don't the Cobras come stock with 4.10's?

Z28Camaro010 I can not believe you actually lost a race to a 03 cobra. No one else on this site with an ls1 actually loses to those cars. Just Kidding, I want to thank you for actually having enough testicular fortitude to admit that you lost a street race to a 03 cobra. With my 03 cobra I dont even post kills anymore just when I get beat. I have all the boltons including ported blower I put down over 500 hp at the wheels and the engine is internally stock as the day I bought it. It has 30k miles and they have been hard ones too, I would love to have a ws6 as a daily driver though, I think they are the best looking sports car to come out of all time including the vette.

Best way for an LS1 to beat a Cobra is run them from a dead stop. You'll get smoked if you're rolling. Cobras are hard to launch with the IRS. The wheels hop like hell. Mine is putting down 500hp at the rear wheels. If I don't launch it right, the tires light up and it's all over.

beaSSt youre right but poly bushings help a BUNCH. It will almost cure your wheel hop and a better tire helps alot too. Mine hooks fairly well with the poly bushings and BFG tires. I make over 500 off the spray.

Hey you guys with the Cobras, have you looked into the solid axel swaps for your cars, im sure that'll help ya off the line.

RAWPWR3 a solid axle swap would help but the irs is really nice. There are guys with irs and upgraded axles and poly bushings running 9s in street driven cobras. One of my friends swapped his car to a solid axle and it does hook up really well.
