i believe the lt1's ran 14 flat, with a 0-60 somewhere around 5.5 or 5.6, and the ls1 is better to mod not sure of the ecm

its according to how much money you have. Its cheaper to Mod a LT1, But there seems to be alot more Aftermarket support for the LS1. But with either engine you can make alot of power.

I think the ls1 has better top end but off the line stock for stock I beleave the lt1 has the advantage/better low end torque.

I remember that GM Hightech Article well.
The Dyno Graph tells it all.

The Dyno shows nothing!! Lets see a Stock Lt1 Vs a Stock Ls1 at the track and get the numbers. Thats what tell it. The Dyno only tells numbers.

I have seen it alot were a LT1 Kills a LS1 to the 300Ft and then the power takes over and the Ls1 walks by it. But The Lt1 still has the Torque advantage.

That just shows its harder for the ls1 to get traction, its hard putting that much more hp and torque to the ground.

The only torque advantage an LT1 has is below 2500 rpm so think real hard how much time your engine actually spends down there during a Drag Race.

Maybe my experience isn't representative of every LT1 car out there but I have run my fair share of them esp. Back in `98 when I was the new Kid on the Block with my Fresh LS1 car. And I can tell you with great certainty that I never met an LT1 Stock or with mild bolt on's that could hang with me. Even when my LS1 was stock I ran my Buddy's `96 SS M6 w/3.73's and pulled a car on him in every gear.
I actually got bored of racing LT1's and Cobra's and started Racing other LS Cars cause they were better competition.

that article does say it all (I was wrong, the lt1 just makes it's torque at a lower rpm)

I believe your thinking of the firehawk with the lt4 motor that produces 330hp.
