MAC Headers and ORY
Hey guys, just ordered me some HTS Coated MAC mid-tubes w/ the ORY. They advertise 40hp & 40lbs trq. I really don't think I'm gonna get nearly as much as that. I just thought it was cool that the way the Y pipe goes into the collectors kinda shape it as long tube headers w/ out loosing clearance. Anyone have em? Thoughts?

just curious why you went w/a 2.5" mid-tube/y-pipe combo and not LT's/3" y-pipe. you will loss some low end TQ w/a 2.5" vs. a 3" combo. I originally bought exactly what you did, but realized my mistake and sold them (i'm not saying yuo made a mistake). the end of the y-pipe to i-pipe is 2.5" not 3", so if you have a 3" cat-back, you will need a filler piece tubing from 2.5" to 3" where they connect.
i went with the Ebay Stainless Steel Lt's and Pacesetter 3" ORY...2018 CTS-V: °°668rwhp/658rwtq°°

I liked my MACs a lot. They aren't LTs...they're mid-length headers. EASY install (both dropped in from the top after removing plugs, coil-packs and pass-side valve-cover) and great clearance with good power. You will lose some TQ gains versus LTs, but up top it will be pretty close. Make sure the welds are ground down and I personally like the "collector mod", which eliminates the ball-flange. Using GM cats in the Y-pipe, my MACs gained 18-20rwhp...

Thanks for the input guys! I went w/ them cause I was concerned more or less about clearance issues.

OK. School me here. I'm in the process of installing some MAC mid length headers with MAC Off Road Y pipe. Is this NOT going to fit into my SLP Loudmouth exhaust? Do I need some sort of a transition now?

I had Macs on my car for like 4 years. My Mac y pipe hung pretty low and I had worse clearance with them than I do with my current long tube set up. Powerwise they were pretty darn close. Long tubes sound less raspy tho.
