**Another sad day in Oz**
Another very sad day here in Oz people. 4 days after the tragic passing of our Croc Hunter, we have lost another icon. Australian motor racing legend Peter Brock died today at about midday Aust EST. 'Brocky' as he's known here was taking part in the Targa West rally in Western Australia, driving his Chev Daytona Coupe. Age 61.
For those of you who haven't heard of him, Brocky was one of few men that could become one with any machine he drove, an absolute racing legend. His first rally car was built by himself when he was a boy as he was too poor to buy an existing car. From there he went on to become Australian Touring Car Champion 3 times, 5 times runner up; Sandown Enduro winner 9 times; Bathurst Enduro winner 9 times.
Anyone who knows anything about Bathurst 1000 will know it's one of the greatest races it the world. In 1979 Brocky pushed his 308ci Holden Torana to the line more than 6 laps ahead of second place with no oil left in the sump, breaking the lap record on the last lap, still my favourite motor racing brag.
Brocky was truely an all round nice bloke. He always had more than enough time for his fans.
Forgive my ramblings, I'm a little numb while writing this. Take the time to have a little read of this link.

I can't say that I've heard of him but sorry to hear the news. I know what it's like when news that a racing hero has left us. I was absolutely crushed when Dale Earnhardt died, matter of fact I'm still not over it.
My condolence.

Definetly a rough week. Even though these guys where in professions that are dangerous, with them being such veterans it makes it still a huge shock to hear about. You just don't expect it to ever happen. RIP........
